Speedo issues

Hi guys. Wondered if anyone has had the same issue and if so how you resolved it.

So when I picked up my van the speedo worked fine with no issues. Then while driving occasionally the speedo needle would drop to 0 (but the van would still drive as normal) indicating a intermittent speedo sensor fault. I replaced this and it seemed to sort the issue but again this intermittent fault has started happening again.

It makes me think it's not the speedo but a dodgy connection? Not sure what connector is needed though as I sourced the part and got a garage to fit (due to the speed sensor being in a god awful place to access!)

Any help / tips / advice?

Cheers

Re: Speedo issues

Nope but where is this gad awful place? If its a strop the clocks job i think i would just pop out to the scrap yard for another set as i only paid £25 for my Fiat Stilo clocks.

Re: Speedo issues

As i understand it to access the speedo sensor you need the van on a ramp as it's right underneath and right up (no access from the top).

Next port of call Woukd be to clean the connectors - a friend of a friend has a ramp so will tackle that before but handy to know if it is the speedo itself then it's doable.
