Met and spoke to a fellow Dispatch owner today

Driving along, saw a white Dispatch in a petrol station. Always a pleasant sight. Wait, he has curtains!

So I had to turn around and chat to the guy. Parked in the forecourt and scared him with my unjustifiable enthusiasm for his van  big_smile

Turns out, his white one isn't a camper but he has another one exactly the same as mine that is a camper! W reg blue one, but his is a wheelchair accessible one. Cool

That's all. I told him to come to the forum, so maybe he'll come say hi!

Re: Met and spoke to a fellow Dispatch owner today

I saw a couple of old Expert's up around Bridlington on the weekend. One was a left hand drive, the other a right hand drive.  If it was anyone on here and you saw a white Expert with a solar panel and roof vent heading towards Pocklington, then it was probably me.

I keep seeing a couple on a drive on my way to work, one of them definitely looks like a stealth camper.
I suppose real stealth Euro-vans dont come on here, they're too stealthy.

Mine is fairly stealth, but not 100%.  It has the solar panel.  But it also has the spinning fan.  So I guess people don't really know what to make of it.  I have seen welfare vans in the past with panels on them, so I guess I fall in a grey area.

My approach to stealth is that if you just glanced at a car park you wouldn't notice it as being out of place, but if you came up close you'd know

I just want to be forgettable, not too concerned about trying to hide.

Re: Met and spoke to a fellow Dispatch owner today

Unless you shout with words camper or the likes on your van or have a fairly obvious motorhome. I'll go with kenbw2 ... Some clearily see my van as a Camper but others have had to ask and the really surprising thing is my partners neighbours and one has a non facelift expert also a couple of acquaintances that I had said nothing to only either believed me or only realised when slide door was open[ed] this even with a roof box and the now newish graphics on it .............. either nobody notces to pay attention to it or they know/suspect what your doing ....................
