Re: 2005 expert 1.9d loss of power

Lack of air or unburnt fuel tends to be black smoke. Try without air filter but i would expect a duff injector and next going up in price would be diesel Pump.

Not sure TBH as unlike my van what are electronically controlled so it would just be unplug one at a time.

Re: 2005 expert 1.9d loss of power

Another thought is the MAF sensor. Its just at the airbox on the pipe leading to EGR. If that is dirty or faulty then it will be giving false reading to the ECU what will be making the fuel to air ratio wrong. Two rich will give black smoke.

What Casper says ..................
try unpluging MAF .......................
See what happens ... if it improves clean MAF or find a replacement.....................

Ether that theres a blockage in it's breathing...........

Blocked or loose failing cat internals maybe ..............

Re: 2005 expert 1.9d loss of power

Cheap exhausts available on evil bay,  from Poland but postage free to the UK . £43 for the front pipe with silencer attached. Quality is decent enough.

search with the title     PEUGEOT EXPERT VAN 1.9 D 71HP 1999-2000 Exhaust Central Silencer
