Question, what is the box under passenger seats?

under the front passenger seats on my 1.9d dispatch, theres a cover, under it are a few wires and caution stickers, i havnt a clue what it is. it was like ive found the main fuse on a tesla, but of course it cant be that because its not a model S.

Probably an empty hole for where the airbag ECU will go for a posher model big_smile Dono did the 2.0 have them around then? Cant see them making more than one body shell when one fits all.

That says the 1.9T had airbag as well as ABS so good money says you have an empty hole.

Pretty sure my airbagless 1999 one had one too. Seat belt pretensioners?

Were they not all related in the same system as airbags? Would a pretensioner without and airbag not cause more neck injury than an airbag with no pretensioner?
