Leaky fuel pump

2004 Dispatch 2.0HDi RHZ

Brenda has started dripping diesel on the road when cranking over.  It looks like diesel is oozing out of a hose joint on top of the pump.

Does anyone know if these pumps can be resealed or overhauled in any way, or realistically am i looking at a new pump? They are really not cheap!

Re: Leaky fuel pump

I remember when I was looking at getting my old mechanical fuel pump overhauled that it was actually cheaper to get the HDi/Common Rail pumps overhauled than mine

Re: Leaky fuel pump

I will get on the phone to them in the morning. Also a visit to the Citroen dealer might be in order to find out what kind of pump i have. Cheers

Re: Leaky fuel pump

That plastic joint going into the pump is that what is leaking. It looks like its just another variant of fuel line joints what might be replaced for the price of a pint of milk. These things

£9.06 is definitely a cheap fix, but I suggest you shop elsewhere for your pints of milk  tongue

Re: Leaky fuel pump

Thanks for the replies chaps, it's a mystery where the leak is coming from, going to get a second opinion from a garage before i go any further with this. Van reeks of diesel though.
