Worn Scudo Gear Selector Mechanism - Remedy?

Garage that has my gearbox out at present (2004 2.0 Jtd Scudo) says there is wear/play in the gear selector mechanism that bolts to top of gearbox. What are the repair options for these? Can they be serviced? Are new ones available?

Re: Worn Scudo Gear Selector Mechanism - Remedy?

on the HDI? not really, the best thing you can do is weld extra metal onto the ball type things. they get a flat spot on them where they rub. i did it to mine then covered them in grease. my gear stick has no play in it now, its quite nice.

Words of wisdom: Internally rust proof the sills and subframe! both skins!!. There's always user serviceable parts inside. "Oh that shouldn't have happened".
