It has gone quiet hasn't it. Well to get things moving here's the Southport Air Show atop my otherwise useless ladder

Where I also found my van twin! Had a little latter with him and got very excited about the vans

Yes it's nice when you meet other owners.
Happened us once in Latvia, with a nice Dutch couple. They had parked beside us deliberattely.

Good to hear it.
I was begining to wonder.

Been a bit out of touch myself. Between escaping heat and hoards of vans and campers at any good spot next to water, I have been mostly in the forests.
Bitten to death by insects and deafened by intense silence.
From solitude and peace to next weeks MOT though so panic now replacing contentment.

I am still having a nose in now and then. Not been out and about in my bus of late as WAYYYyyyyy to bust at work. I think i got old over the past few month also what is quite depressing
reason being i bought my first watering can two month ago and last week ordered plants out a Sunday magazine. Boy i feel depressed. Next month i am even older and booked into Thunder In The Glen at Aviemore. I hate Harleys FFS, The Monday after i will probably commit Harakiri

I'll take the silence to mean the vans have been running smootlhly and noone has needed a hand with any problems!
Actually, it's been a good while since I've had an incident. Wait, don't say that out loud...

Hi. I've been doing plenty of maintenance on my expert, however not needed to post anything because everything I've needed to do has already been documented on here, I'm sure one day I'll have done some work that's not been mentioned and I'll then be of some help, haha.

Casper I have not been on here much lately and I am older again next month[less than three weeks now] having had nothing but ricers or a couple of british I thought there was some thing wrong with me when I admited to likeing a fat boy but then I thought it was the denim blue satin paint I liked...............
Then it transpirered I fancied a shot on a Honda 750 Shadow a black spirit one that along with likeing a Mondeo I saw got me worried ...................
Don't worry gettin older doesnt hurt and also I'm in worse overall shape than you.................
I'd say..................

Lucky it's not many female posters here, would torture you for the "juicy bits" for days at the end
As it comes to blokes (or myself at least), seems you have already admitted the guilt, not big deal- happens to the best of us!

Everyone's gone over to Facebook it seems. I followed a mk1 camper conversion page and for some reason they made me the admin which was not my plan. John Dragon Man is on there. All good fun, but nowhere near as in depth or useful as this forum.
Nice to see the vans have a following though.
As for Brenda, she is doing a lot of commuting. I haven't started the 12v wiring yet, or put in the Fiamma skylight i have. OAP care is taking up a lot of mine and the wife's time. We did manage one camping trip though, to the Eden Project in St Austell to see the Stereophonics. They were great, as was the van....
Three years after i had all that work done, all is well but i never count my chickens with Brenda. Best not to!

I've not logged in for a while either. Still running the Expert, been pretty good, passed the MOT in February needing front arm bushes and a little bit of welding on the sill.
Last week my gear stick went, a previous owner had stuck the bracket back on (I refuse to call his butchery "welding"...), but despite my gentle treatment of said stick, the bracket came off again. The local scrappy had a replacement, for 40 notes, so yesterday afternoon I spend mostly swearing and cursing the designer of the dashboard...
. Brute force, however, saved the day. When at first you dont succeed, use a bigger hammer.
Gear change all good now.
Every cloud.... the donor vehicle has a rear compartment roof lining...

New alternator
Tow hitch fitted
Lower Suspension arm ball joints replaced
Replaced gear stick

Getting old needs counting your blesses, they tend to get rare. As does driving the van. Nevertheless I enjoy every instance when I drive it: you don't feel the rolling (on a good tarmac of course). I have swapped to seats originating from a Peugeot 306 cabriolet. They are a real progression over the Jaguar seats I found the van with. The seating is lower, the side support is better and I can bent the back side over when the off-side seat is reversed.
Thanks for the link to the Fbook page.
That will not alter my appreciation for visiting this side. Having a brother living in York I should try and visit some of the places I came across while reading.
Cheers for the end (and beginning as well) of the year

Ah you in Maastricht. Land of the forever roadworks
Got a mate 30 minutes up the road from you in Linne just after Maasbracht. Tend you visit him at least once a year before Covid started. Three years in the trot we headed south after our visit and trying to get through/pass Maastricht was hell. Always wanted to stop and visit through as it does look nice

In my opinion the roadworks heaven is way south, Belgium and Luxembourg (autoroute du soleil). We now have a nice two stories tunnel for those not wanting to visit the old city. Which I can recommend, it's comparable with fi. York. If you are planning, let me know. If I'm free ans not in France I'll be glad to give seeing.
Meanwhile I'm about to mount my camper table 2nd generation. I'll be posting some pictures.
