Put a mate out his misery. Can a XUD 1.9 non turbo Bosch pump go in a DW8 1.9 non turbo with a Lucas? I am 90% sure no ECU in the DW8

I did exactly that - XUD9 Bosch non-turbo into my Lucas DW8. Worked perfectly. I hear you're better to change the injectors but I was fine with the originals
I needed to get some injector pipes as the pumps fire in a different order, I got them for £60 from the Citroen dealer
Note this is the DW8, not the DW8B. The DW8B has an ECU which takes input from (I think) a MAF sensor, and adjusts the injection accordingly. Assumedly putting a DW8/XUD pump in is effectively converting a DW8B into a DW8

Cheers Ken. Its a donor van and both LDV Pilots so pipes and larger injectors will be on the Donor van i would have thought. The DW8 is around 96, P Reg so i dont think it will be the B model

Wait, are you sure it's a DW8 at all? I don't think the DW8 existed until... 1999ish?
2000 according to Wiki: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PSA_EW/DW_engine#DW8
Although my DW8 was a 1999 T reg

Hi Kenbw2,
I'm the mate trying to figure out the fuel pump change.
I've got an XUD9 with the lucas pump, and I'm getting a donor van with a DW8 that's got a Bosch pump. Head Gasket on the DW8 has been gone for a thousand miles or so and I don't want to fuss with fixing it so I'm not switching the whole engine.
Just trying to work out what bits I need to take off etc to put the Bosch on my XUD9.
Cheers
