Dear members!
I have been searching all over the internet to find an answer to this question and no luck yet. I was hoping you can help me, as I saw your great expertise in these vans!
So it's extremely important for me to find a mk1 (can be facelift too) with 1.9d engine, to have a passenger side airbag as well as drivers side. Is there any chance they made such versions of these beauties? If yes, what to look for to confirm that there is a passenger side airbag too?
Thank you
Johann

I know with my Synergie, which shares the dashboard, there was a different insert on the passenger side of the dashboard
On the vans, there's a handy storage dip, but on the Synergie, there's an airbag module. Even says Airbag on it
I bet the facelift models have both airbags, I'm sure someone else can confirm

If you had an airbag would you not have the key hole in the side of the dash when you open the door to switch it off?

I don't remember my Synergie having this. Definitely had a passenger airbag though

i can confirm that on the mk2 van (the mk1 facelift), it does not have any extra wiring for a passenger air bag. retrofitting one would be slightly more difficult however not impossible.
i am after one myself (not for the air bag for the cover) though on a side note, with very slight modification the place where the passenger airbag should go makes a fantastic hidden storage compartment if you unscrew it and glue some hinges to it. just use thick gorilla tape to cover any holes then line it with a bit of rubber non slip mat. its a huge space almost as big as the glove box!

Notice: I have the tendency to void warranties, blow fuses, cause fires, and other fun stuff.
Words of wisdom: Internally rust proof the sills and subframe! both skins!!. There's always user serviceable parts inside. "Oh that shouldn't have happened".

Only ever has two motors with a passenger one an both had the key hole. Think its to do with having a front baby chair as they could break the kids neck in a crash. I do have one in my Maxus but TBH never looked to see if it has one.

Thank you for clarifying everyone! I have a hard time finding a model with passenger airbag, but now I know what to look for!
