MK1 Dispatch DW8 Dynamic Tensioner Pulley Bearings

Hi all, just a quick question.
My van was making some very hard metallic noises which sounded like they were coming from the timing belt area.
I was very relieved to do some investigating today and found that the dynamic tensioner pulley is rattling around.

Before I tackle it - do I need to replace the whole tensioner assy, or can you just replace the pulley?
The tensioner itself is fine and applying good tension etc, it's just the pulley bearing that's gone (very badly too).

Thanks and happy new year to all.

Surely while you're down there you may as well do as much as you can. Would it be a crazy time to do the timing belt too?

Argh. I know you are exactly right in what you're saying there Kenbw2....I don't fancy pushing my luck. Ha ha.
I also know, that if I ignore what you're saying, it will surely come back to haunt me. roll

I will replace the tensioner assembly complete, and the aux belt, then make plans to change that timing belt.  smile  smile

Thanks for the reply - hope you are doing well.

EDIT - Just noticed that I did not explain in my first post - it is the tensioner on the auxiliary belt that is gone... not the timing belt tensioner.
Sorry - I was rushing my message and did not proof read it. smile

Re: MK1 Dispatch DW8 Dynamic Tensioner Pulley Bearings

Ah it's not the timing belt tensioner! I realise now I made that assumption haha

I'd be less worried then, although still for the price difference may as well go for the tensioner assembly? And yea fan belt is cheap

But now we've talked about the timing belt, fate's timer has started hasn't it  big_smile

Nice van too, I want mine in that shade of blue
