Hoping there are some electricians in the forum.
Very recently noticed that when indicating or braking, the fog lamp warning sign lights up.
Not seen this happening before.
Could it be a bad earth somewhere ?
Don’t know where to start, so hope for some ideas.
Thinking it is not too bad a problem, but strange.
Thanks. Roly.

hey there, i would check behind the passenger side rear light. theres an earthing point in that it may have corroded. failing that, go around unplugging your lights and see when the issue stops. that will be the light at fault.
my money is on one of the rear lights. it can sometimes happen where a track in the rear light clusters can get corroded too. sometimes even a pin usually the earth just rots away. the easy fix it to tae a bulb out, jam a wire into the holder as you put the bulb back in and then run it to the earth wire on a connector block/crimps/solder/wire joiner of your choice.
hope this helps!

Many thanks John, just what I needed. Guessed it may be an earthing problem.
Will do just as you have advised and see how it goes.
Will report back.
Thanks again.

Further to my post regarding the fog lamp warning light illuminating when braking.
I have today tried to remove the rear light clusters to clean all the connections and check that there is a clean earth.
I do not have a manual and undid the top plastic knurled nut, but was unable to prise the light cluster out.
Please can anyone tell me the procedure to remove the light cluster.
Thanks. Roly.

There should also a bottom plastic nut.
The studs often strip off though so perhaps look out for a bodged fixing somewhere if it's not there.

Just a quick update.
Further to John’s post about the earthing, investigated it.
also thanks to OAT, yes eventually found the bottom stud and fortunately all in tack.
At first did a full clean of all the contacts and roughened up the bulbs etc, sadly no result.
Then did the earthing route and bingo, worked a treat.
I drilled a hole in the plastic of the bulb holder and soldered a wire to the earth routing, then put a ring terminal on the other end, which I self tappered to the bodywork, all good and cured the problem.
Thanks for help on the forum.
