2015 expert rear door latch stuck closed.

Hi folks.   Out of the blue the rear door centre latch won't release.  I've managed to pry both boors apart to undo the bolts etc and I've got them apart, but can't free the loop from the latch.

Any ideas?  It is likely the actuator itself failed?  Is it fused? what could be up with it?
