Water ingress mk3 Dispatch cab

So then, done some reading up, and looked at historical threads.....

Sponge under front cab carpet is soaked, and it appears to be both sides (although initially noticed it on the passenger side)

Water is completely clear, I am 100% sure it is rainwater (not coolant).

Windscreen looks original so unlikely to be leaking, but maybe...

I have stripped the wiper panel and checked the drain holes, these seemed to be OK.  Passenger side the brush passed straight through, there was some resistance driver side but 100% clear now.  There was however little evidence of a large build up of water (no tide lines etc), the passenger side which is easier to see was complete dry except for a small area around the drain, and there it was wet but not full of water, drivers side much the same.

So what else to look for anyone any ideas?

otherwise next stage is to remove seats and strip out sponge backed floor/carpet and get the hose pipe out and look for it....

I believe, that's the cause, and rather simple solution for

Re: Water ingress mk3 Dispatch cab

Thanks @AlvyLad.

Have looked at that thread but they seem to be the same drain holes that I have checked and cleared or am I missing something?  On the mk 3 they pass down from under the scuttle panel that the wipers etc are mounted in and are visible again in the back of the space where the suspension tops are and pass straight down through and discharge behind the arch liner, which is what alerted me to them in the first place.

As I said I have checked these, one totally clear, the other may have been slightly blocked, but should be clear now, used a brush bought for this very purpose of clearing drains on the mk2 mx5.

Hard to tell if it is any better to be honest, just not sure what else to check short of stripping lots of interior out.

I'd get a garden hose and put on sprinkler nozzle to see where it actually find it's way in

Re: Water ingress mk3 Dispatch cab

Yeah that's the plan for next weekend, get the front row of seats out, get the big waterlogged heavy floor lining out and then have at it with the hose pipe....
