Seats

Hi

I need some help, I've just bought a 2001 scudo to do a camper conversion. It's got a bench seat and the drivers seat is made from concrete and hate, does anyone have a single passenger seat and a more comfy driver seat? Preferably a height adjustable one? Or recommend anywhere I can pick one up from reasonably cheaply? My local scrap yards only seem to have builders vans with bench seats!

Re: Seats

Have a scan round the forum mate as its been covered many a time what fits. These vans do came with a single front. I got a Scudo one for my Expert. My drivers seat is fine so you just must have a sensitive arse  lol  If you are willing to drill the floor for somethig else thats not a straight fit then just look as height and if wanting swivel plates go for something an inch lower. Make sure the base has flat mount points just like your scudo. I think i said before, im sure your handbrake is part of your base so you may be limited.

Re: Seats

Thanks!

I was thinking of maybe taking the seats out of a Ulysses, I'm not bothered about if they match or swivel, but something a bit more comfy would be nice! The padding has completely collapsed in the drivers seat base, that couple with a sensitive Arse  lol am I right in thinking the the Ulysses is exactly the same vehicle? Just the car version?

More or less yes. Slight difference with head height and sliding door but seat wise you should be fine. The bolts can be a right ba****d to get out though so if going to the scrap yard take a wire brush and WD40 or whatever lube/cleaner you have and get under the van and start scrubbing the rust away. If you have a battery angle grinder then you could just cut the heads off and worry about cleaning your own ones. If you find Ulysses ones without the swivel i think you get storage drawers in them what will be handy as the clove box are crap.

Remember the seat comes away from the base. Ulysses seats should bolt onto your base so i would measure before i go as its easier to take seat off base that base out floor. You will need passenger base and seat though as the bench one is fixed.

Re: Seats

I haven't found anything yet, the only suitable vehicles I've found for donar parts have either already had the seats removed, or have no doors and the seats are wet and mouldy ? The quest continues...

Re: Seats

Dr_Feelgood,

I have a spare passenger seat from a 1999 Expert. No rips that I know of in the material, just a few paint marks (previous owner used it as a decorators van).
I might be after a twin front seat with a three point harness for the middle seat (if your still wanting rid of yours or does it have the lap belt?)

Also have a white front passenger door (N/S/F), with door card (grey) and window (but mech not working).

PM me if interested. I'm based in the Westcountry.

Partially converted mine too, but will be selling it soon as I have bought a newer one. So might have some other bits like bulkheads (solid and ladder type), etc for sale.

They do wash. My dog (Rottie) when a pup shit all over my car and pissed on the front seat. After booting her up and down the street (ONLY JOKING) big_smile i picked the pins out and took the material off the seats and stuck them in the washing machine. The foam was put in the bath and walked on till clean. Felt like a poor person walking on my washing at the river but it did the trick.
You saying your in Hull. Ill be down your way the mora for the Ferry. Where can i eat before getting on the boat? I would prefer to be coming in from York on the A1079 then down to Marfleet Av

Re: Seats

HU13 in Hessle is good, thieving Harry's at the marina is a bit eclectic and pod, but good too, although parking is awkward there, not sure about anywhere else, I've only been here a couple of months smile

If worse comes to worst I'll think about pauper cleaning of mouldy seats but I'd prefer not to have to lol

Bugger. Not serving food at the time i am passing. Table, Table at Kingswood retail park it is. Hope to be there about 3pm. Last time i was in Hull (94 ish) it was a run down shithole. I understand money was pumped into the place and its cheered up a lot so quite looking forward to seeing if i recognise the place as i would pass through every years from mid 80's to mid 90's heading for Germany.

Re: Seats

It's still a bit of a shithole to be honest  lol it's not where I would have chosen, I wanted Leeds or York but I got stuck with hull. Having said that now that I'm here, I'm living in a decent part, it could be a lot worse! Starting to get to know some of the locals, and I'm learning the language. I think they're starting to accept me as one of their own ?

Re: Seats

After a long and arduous search, I have finally located two grey velour seats from a 2002 Peugeot 806. Hopefully they will bolt into the Scudo without too many problems smile I'm picking them up on Sunday, I'm quite excited lol

Re: Seats

Make shure you have a socket set with  good Torx bits   the outside pair of bolts on both seats are exposed to weather so plenty of wd or plusgas(i strped the head of one of mine) but still was just a couple of hours for both , drivers side was a  bit fiddly with handbrake  but all goes together perfectly

Re: Seats

Did you get these? I would have said if i could was to take a cordless angle grinder and just cut the bolt heads off. Not your van, the scrapper  smile  Saves tame and hassle at the scrap yard.
