Intermittent indicator

Just wondering does anyone have any experience or wisdom about this? I seem to have a bad connection on the indicator stalk (only down/left). Sometimes it works, sometimes it just clicks rapidly without illuminating the bulb. Up/right is fine.

I’ve tried spraying contact cleaner in as far as I can but it didn’t seem to do anything. I’m guessing it’s an annoying part to replace as the van is 20 years old this year, does anyone have any ideas for fixes or places to get a replacement part?

Cheers,
Jane

Re: Intermittent indicator

yeah i had it with mine, i managed to spray it with WD-40 as a "i wonder if it will work" thing and it did!

i must admit though, they are quite easy to replace if it cant be fixed, and very cheap big_smile

Re: Intermittent indicator

Mine has started to show signs of being dicky. Nothing major yet, but I sometimes have to click it off myself or else it clicks rapidly.

Hopefully it doesn't get any worse.

Re: Intermittent indicator

just when you lifted the stalk up..  nothing happened. i guess the wd-40 did the trick as its been fine since.

and people tell me never to use wd-40 as a contact cleaner. works fine for me..  3 years on!
