They all identical MK1, Mk2

In mechanism or in shape? Does that imply I could swap a Mk2 box into my Mk1?

This is assuming when we say Mk2 we mean the post-2007 model

Re: MK2 Dispatch glove box removal

I just took my 2009 Mk2 (RHD) apart to see why the lid flaps about (usual broken 'hinges', I can see now).

I removed the 3 Torx screws visible with the lid open, then opened the door, pulled back the door seal a bit, then freed the box and side air vent together (I have one finger on each one, in the photo). I think I took out the small tray as well.

I had to disconnect the glove box light before I could move it out.

Once out, I found the 'hinge' mount has 2 more Torx screws holding it, as well the 3 plastic tabs. I had to open a folding bit to reach the screws.

Now I have to work out how to fix it. Maybe I can find some glue to stick old rubber inner tube to the EDPM lid?

Roops
