Leaky sliding door windows

After the air suspension saga this one has been the single most persistent, nagging, annoying issue with my 2009 Expert.

Every time it rains, you can guarantee that there are two or three long lines or water along the sliding door interior doorcard on both sides of the van, and a sizeable puddle at the bottom of the doors.  If you open and then close the doors, you'll observe a veritable torrent of water gushing from the underside of the plastic "gutter" where the sliding part of the window slides into which will then flow down the doorcard to the bottom of the door.

I've tried all sorts of things to remedy this, from siliconing round the outer perimeter of the outside of the windows, to siliconing the sliding window shut, to installing "gutters" above the opening parts of the windows, to using a bike brake cable to "rod" the drainage channels in the windows.  None of which have worked.

I've now had to remove the doorcards as they were completely rotten at the bottom, so I'd love to remedy this before I make some new doorcards for the van.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Re: Leaky sliding door windows

Sounds like a difficult one to solve. I wonder if you could use a hose pipe and run it on specific parts of the window to identify where the water is coming in?
