In my 1996 Scudo Combinato 1.9TD van only the rear, 3rd row bench has a quick release mounting points, while the middle row is bolted down (or screwed up). It consists of one tilted and one double seat. None of them fold flat, making it impossible to do a simple bed conversion for camping use. Is it possible to fit seat rails from ulysses etc. to use with detachable, foldable single seats?

Another 1.9TD on the forum!
Are you asking if the front (driver and passenger) seat can be swapped for a Ulysee/Synergue/806? If so yes, it's what I did. You need both the seat and the base, which you unbolt from the floor of the van.
Prepare for swearing at how rusty those bolts are.

I've seen your front conversion and saved it for later, now I'd like to have the middle. i.e. 2nd row quick release type single seats from Ulysse eetc. – my current set (removed on the picture) bolts down to the floor – you can see the holes on the photo. Only rear bench has the quick release mechanism.

Ah yea I have wondered about that before but never put in the effort. At some point when I'm next near my Synergie (what's left of it) I can measure the bolt holes

i still think the XUD is the best diesel engine. definitely sounds the best. i love the clatter of an XUD.. and damn miss it. i am tempted to put an XUD diesel engine in a vehicle i am building at the moment. i wanted to use the BMW N57.. but i cant find one to buy thats not damaged (the auto boxes kill the engines as it holds the RPMs to low for emissions reasons manuals are really rare)
i have had 2 XUDs one in a Citroen BX estate and one in a 306 estate. the BX was Bosch and the 306 was Lucas. the bosch was way better.
oh right.. seat bases... yeah ummm.. in my van i installed my own from a Transit Custom MPV. ahem. sorry

Notice: I have the tendency to void warranties, blow fuses, cause fires, and other fun stuff.
Words of wisdom: Internally rust proof the sills and subframe! both skins!!. There's always user serviceable parts inside. "Oh that shouldn't have happened".
