New side decals added.

Makes it look more like a camper now. Ironic considering I originally wanted a stealth camper!

Still looking for the rear doors (with windows in) but not that hard to be honest. The more I think about it the less I think I need them.

Not pictured is a diy surfboard table for the inside made using the ply that made up the original racking.

Hi Casper,  the wind deflectors were from micks garage - http://www.micksgarage.com/search/wind% … 0to%202004

From memory they arrived the next day and we're simple to fit with the clips.

Cheers mate. Found his eBay page what is three quid cheaper with  free delivery. I messaged him and he says no promises but will try and get them out tonight but defiantly tomorrow at the latest. As long as they are here for the start of the week i am happy.

Its not so much for driving with window open as the van is not to bad a speed with it fully open. Its more for when i have the hook up through the window at campsites and the odd occasion i nip into a shop or whatever and the dog is left in the van.

Re: My diy Citroen Dispatch conversion - so far

Exactly the reason I got them. You can leave the windows part open without drawing attention to the fact the windows are open. Another reason for me was to increase airflow at night and help reduce condensation.

Did you notice when doing the floor you have a hole on the N/S rear? I had my jack in this but it also has a vent on the side. I was thinking this should be enough as i never covered mine fully. There is a chance i may need to sleep in the van for the first time this weekend so ill find out then but yeah. The window will be left open electric cable thickness at the minimum unless its freezing out and the wife can get out and take the cable in tongue

BTW, got an email. Deflectors are in the post and a tracking number what shows the guy is true to his word so ill keep an eye on other stuff he is selling for future use. His eBay shop if anyone else is interested

Re: My diy Citroen Dispatch conversion - so far

Hayden these came today and i have them in but.... The glass touches the clips on the way up. I have pushed them in as far as possible and doubt it will do damage to the glass but how did you put the clips in as the instructions are rubbish. I have one at each side and dit not put one in the middle as the glass did clunk on that one.

Re: My diy Citroen Dispatch conversion - so far

Hi Casper, I opted for two per deflector too - one at each end but rotated them 90 degrees so they miss the window - like this...

Re: My diy Citroen Dispatch conversion - so far

Aye, i have them the exact same. The rubber is pushing the clips forward making it rub the metal clip. I may not have pushed them in hard enough or at a slight angle. Ill have a play again later

I have same deflectors .... bought from Mick's garage also (about this time last year) trouble was mine arrived having been damaged in post ..... I took photos of them and the state of packaging, Sent photos off and received a refund and was told at that time not to bother returning them.... so they were left sat on the shelf in shed for easily 2 months when my son found them and tried to fit them unsuccessfully to another vehicle......

It was only when he having bought the correct pair for his car which came with those same clips and having the same fouling issues as Casper...... He went and bought some quite sticky double sided tape (3m?) to do the job

Obviously on inspection of the damaged pair there was nothing those U shaped clips had to hold them in place

Anyway Some of the boy's double sided tape later I've got wind deflectors too

They're a bit flimsy feeling at the ends, but I've only had to re-stick the one that had the biggest chunk missing off it once in last 9 months so none to shabby I'm thinking

P1120316small.jpg

Package look as if it had been stood on end in a slot and then  something really heavy sat on top...... 3 of 4 teeth bits were broken or hanging off

Re: My diy Citroen Dispatch conversion - so far

Never had time to play about with them properly and away to Manchester in the van first thing so just stuck electric tape over the clips just now to save any window scratching but Vaz talking about double sided tape is making me think to super glue the buggers in. Rubber to plastic so should be fine.
