Don't open that trap door

There is a Panel at the rear on the drivers side, Apart from winning some rubbish jump leads. Is something meant to be in here?
If not I was thinking of running 12v to that area and have a power inverter to charge the mobilty scooter, and other odds n ends

I have a few small tools stored in mine, the cavity goes right down and towards the rear you can store quite a lot in there!
Mine has a heavy cable ran from the battery with an inline fuse that powers a permanently live 12v socket towards the rear doors which I assume was for that very same purpose.
