Heater

Hi I've got expert MK1 facelift, owned it for 2 years.
I recently noticed my heater only gets warm so when it went into garage last week for service and cam belt and water pump I asked if they would replace my thermostat and give the whole system a flush out .
Anyways got the van back but the heater still only warm.
So they said to bring it back and they would flush out the heater matrix which they did but still only warm.
Any suggestions on what else I can try?

Re: Heater

These are only based on my van / experience. 2005 mk1 2.0 HDI

Air lock or air in system - there's a bleed tap at the top of the radiator.

Heater core - this is around £20 for a new one - strip the lower dash 99% are T25s you need to be able to remove the semi circled casing below the gear lever and also the glove box. The Heater core is in here, move 'stuff' out your way and replace this.

Replace your thermostat again for sake of £15 peace of mind - x2 13mm (I think) top of engine bay right in middle

Check you radiator pipes upper and lower when up to temp - top hose should be hot - lower hose should be cool/warm - if not possible blockage in radiator

Failing that - diesel heater £100 instant heat  big_smile
