Seat Bases

big_smile Hi there, hope everyone’s doing good. New to here and new to vans in general so hoping someone could give me some advice!
Recently started converting an 06 Expert and so far it’s been an absolute weapon. I’ve decided to change the bench to a single seat and happily found some single seats today. I went and bought them but like a muppet did not realise that i did not get the seat base with the passenger seat. Whoops.
Does anyone know which seat bases will line up correctly for this? I’ve found a seat base for an 807 but worried it might not fit and i’ll waste even more money.

Thanks!!

Re: Seat Bases

I was disappointed to find I needed to swap the bases too. I had the bases, but those bolts were not coming out of the floor without a fight

I believe all of the 1996-2007, and 2007-2016 vans and cars all have the same floor bolt arrangement, so that's the bottom half sorted

I've also heard that 807 seats are interchangeable but sadly I can't confirm if this applies to the bolts between the base and the seat itself.

What did your single seats come out of?

2000 Citroen Dispatch 1.9TD XUD9 Camper Conversion
1999 Citroen Dispatch 1.9D DW8 Disassembled Camper Conversion
1996 Peugeot 806 1.9TD XUD9 Spare vehicle
1998 Citroen Synergie 1.9TD XUD9 Snapped timing belt

Ahaha glad it wasn’t just me struggling then! Took ages to get those bolts out, they were rather persistent.

That’s good to know, thank you for the help. The guy i bought them from said they were from an old dispatch. Not sure what to do from here really, i’ve asked the guy selling to send some measurements but until then i guess I’ll keep looking around! Even standard bases seem so rare to find unfortunately, not even gonna get started on swivels!

Re: Seat Bases

My experience would suggest that the base acts as the adapter between the seat and the floor. So each seat will have a specific base sorry to say.

Just meant it’s been incredible ahaha. Done everything i’ve asked of it with no complaints! I’m surprised how reliable it’s been so far as it was a bit of a shot in the dark and already had 150k on the clock when i bought it. Happy days!

Re: Seat Bases

Just jumping in here as I am in the same process at the moment the Citroen seat runner on drivers side is 16" wide
The runners on VW Audi and seat are 20" wide
Vauxhall Corsa are 18.5 wide as are fiat Punto
Mazda are just over 21'
My plan is to use the original drivers side base and utalis the base on the bench seat by cutting and fabricating something as regards the seat to base I'll make a conversation plate which is the easy bit biggest headache is the daft location of the handbrake with the clearance issue so I don't think I'll be using my AUDI A4 seats but I am toying with using some Punto seats as I've I centralise them they will just give enough clearance as I don't think stepping the Audi seat 3" inbound will throw the steering position to far out from sitting central to the wheel
Hope this gives you some ideas for yours
