Ok a bit of a long one as I'll try and give you all the information I can.
I inheried a 1.9 2002 Expert. Ex motability/wheelchair conversion now a camper.
it has one key.
I was told it had been standing a while. put some dilesil fuel additive in and gave it a good run. 50 miles
on the return jounry there is a hill. It started hiccuping/stalling, speed dropped down to 20mph. Like it was in limp mode. Foot on the board it wouldn't accelrate.
got it home, it kept on stalling died when parking on the drive.
charged the battery. the dash lights came on for a second then dead.
charged spare battery attempted to jump start it. the same all dash lights on then dead not even the click of a solenoid.
got a jump start pack.
same again 1 second of light then dead. Jump start says fully charged?
I am clueless with this.
I would like to use it as a mini camper. but don't want to start spending a lot on what is a 23 year old veichle.
on the other hand a 23 year old deisil veichle should be more relialble and basic
but i'm cluless with this.
any advice would be appreicated.

It it was running ok when laid up it should be a very simple fix.
Sounds like two separate issues (at least
). Poor running and now not starting.
How long is "standing a while", dirty fuel perhaps? Clean fuel filter and check for good flow.
The easiest and simplest thing with the starting problem would be to try another starter solenoid.
You will need a multi meter to trace any electrical issue further. Even a cheap basic one would do.

thanks
ill check the solenoid.
Could be fuel filter.
Yes its a old bus but if i can get it running and mot'd then it should be good for another 12 months.

these 1.9s will run without the ECU even being plugged in... all be it very rough and smokey. if it wont run at all i would be checking to see if fuel is being drawn up. i would get it to run on easy start/brake cleaner and let it suck up fresh fuel from the tank.

Notice: I have the tendency to void warranties, blow fuses, cause fires, and other fun stuff.
Words of wisdom: Internally rust proof the sills and subframe! both skins!!. There's always user serviceable parts inside. "Oh that shouldn't have happened".
