Which variant do I have?

My Expert 2.0 Hdi Mk I must have left the factory in 99, first registered in the UK in Jan 2000. It has windows all round, two individual front seats, a triple bench in the back (folds down/lifts out as one unit) and no third row of seats. It's fully lined, including a headlining and moulded plastic side panels on the rear quarters/wheel arches (even including an ashtray). It has four inertia reel seat belts and a lap belt in the centre of the rear bench. The rear floor is covered with a fully fitted rubber mat which appears to be original equipment, as it matches the one in the front. There are no visible redundant fixing holes.

The V5 lists it as a minibus, and the 'number of seats' field is left blank. The DVLA definition of a minibus is a vehicle with nine or more seats, and mine has five. I need to get this corrected because it puts me in the wrong bracket on congestion/clean air penalty websites, as I just discovered £60 later after traversing Bradford at 9am one icy morning ('cars' are exempt). I believe the van left the factory as a 5 seater, and was incorrectly registered from the start. My question to the forum is, does anyone know how this configuration would have been described straight out of the showroom? Combi? Estate car? I'm trying to gather evidence for my submission to the DVLA - ideally a scan of an original sales brochure or similar would be ideal.  Thanks for reading...

Re: Which variant do I have?

It's very quiet around here lately but hopefully someone will have some info.
I did have a driver's handbook  from a 99 built-2000 reg which I think had exploded drawings of the various interior.
Unfortunately, it must have gone with the van.  You might find something here:-

Re: Which variant do I have?

Apparently, my very early 07 (mk1 facelift) started live as a 9 seater, before it was converted to a wav. That's according the person I bought it from anyway, if thats true I bet that would of been fun with the flat 1.9 with 9 people onboard!

Just a quick google and it gave me this.

The
Citroen Dispatch Mk1 was produced from 1996 to 2006 (with a facelift in 2004) and was available as a 9-seater Combi model. This was a rare but highly practical configuration, providing substantial passenger capacity and versatile interior space.
Key Features of the Mk1 Dispatch 9-Seater:

Vehicle Type: The 9-seater was generally badged as the "Dispatch Combi" or "MPV" version, which was the passenger variant of the standard commercial van.
Seating Configuration: The seating layout typically consisted of a 3-seat bench in the front row (driver + two passengers), a second 3-seat bench, and a third 3-seat bench, allowing for 9 passengers in total.
Versatility: A key feature was the versatile interior. The rear seats could be easily removed to expand the already large cargo space, making it suitable for both large families and light commercial use.
Platform: The Mk1 Dispatch shared its mechanicals and body structure with other "Eurovans" from the PSA and Fiat collaboration, specifically the Peugeot Expert and Fiat Scudo vans, as well as the Citroen Synergie (Evasion), Peugeot 806, and Fiat Ulysse MPVs.
Driving Position: A notable quirk of the first-generation models was the slightly offset driving position and the handbrake placement to the right of the driver, designed to maximize central cabin space.
Engine Options: It was commonly available with a 1.9-litre diesel engine or a more powerful 2.0-litre HDi engine, known for reliability and decent fuel economy.

Re: Which variant do I have?

Sorry to hear you got caught by the CAZ. That same one causes me hassle sometimes, especially for that tiny stretch in Shipley

Sadly I doubt any other classification is going to get you through. None of these are classified as Car Derived Van which I gather is allowed. That's more for the Partner/Berlingo

The only one that's allowed as far as I know is Motor Caravan, but they've tightened up the rules and it's now nigh on impossible to get that for our small vans.

Take a look at https://www.catcar.info/peugeot/?lang=en

Click Expert near the bottom under Commercial vehicles

You'll then see in grey a number of body types like CAB FLOOR - LONG TYPE 8

One of these will represent your model. If you go through to 2.0 HDi and then Body work you can see if the setup matches your one
