Re: 1998 Dispatch starter questions

Curious about which starter motor unit I should buy. My mk-1 RHX 2003 2.0 hdi has had starting issues, I knocked on the starter solenoid and now it starts up like usual. However I would like to swap it out. My question is which brand / OEM number should I go for? My engine codes are RHX (DW10BTED), RHX (DW10BTED+).

Re: 1998 Dispatch starter questions

You pays yer money and all that.
They go from around 60 to 140 quid plus on ebay
A Hella reman one goes for  80
Personally  I'd go cheap and cheerful and rebuild the one I took out
as most just need servicing, brushes etc like alternators, so some times bearings seals too
but they're usually pretty cheap.

A new Napa (RHX) will set you back 140

Re: 1998 Dispatch starter questions

I would just go down to the local starter/alternator man and get a new solenoid put on. I understand this may not be an option.
