Surprisingly busy

My partner and I decided that a couple of days away in the van was called for even though the weather has been a little damp of late.........
We had been to Blackpool a good few weeks ago for a long week end,.....  But  !!!

So on Thursday we decided to head North for a couple days...........

We found it surprisingly busy with campers/Motor-homes every where we went............

First of all we headed to Ayr ..... both of us spent our formative years in the area and for the essential Fish Supper.......... then over to the Kelpies .....

After a couple of photos we decided to move on a bit....... The car park was being used by Girl and Boy racers to display their talents so decided to have our warm up cuppa along the road a little.............
We stopped that night at a Truck stop I used many a time in the past at Stracathro..............
We then doubled back on ourselves to Kirriemuir....... This is the birth and resting  place of J.M.Barrie (Peter Pan author).......... but also really to visit this memorial

We then headed off to St Fillans............ Stopping opposite The Four Seasons Hotel only to find that The Mirror Man seem to have disappeared again......... I know he got blown away in some rough weather around Jan 2015 ? but thought he returned last summer............... Anyway stopped for coffee and then off to the Green Welly for Dinner.......... We stopped the night in Ballachulish in the car park outside the Quarry cafe/co-op store. A few vans were camping out here so not alone as we have been before however heavy rain again that night but this time enough to start flooding the car park and a couple of the vans decided to move to the other side of the park, but come day light nothing had come of the flooding which had drained ..........
Didn't take many photos  with the weather and
Oban, Inveraray, Rest and be Thankful,  Arrochar, Duck bay, were the return route and are the various  regular stopping points for us for a coffee or just to spend an hour or two............ And as I still have family in and around Glasgow... we stopped off in Balfron and Milngavie before returning home Sunday afternoon

Re: Surprisingly busy

I used mine.

To help someone move house  big_smile She got let down at the last moment so we had to do a two bed home with my van with the bed flat and a vauxhall box corsa van. At least we both had roof bars for the big items.
