Interior panel clips

Hi, can anyone point me where to find the plastic clip that fits into the oblong hole so you can screw a self tapper into it? I've got a couple of euro 7 interior arch panels that need fixing to the metal panels. I've looked everywhere but can't find them anywhere. Are the dealers the best place for this? Thanks for any replies.

Scrap yard and take them out another van. They are round where the bulkhead sits. You may have some still in the holes.

Measure them up as these Fiat ones may be the same but if this is an indication of price then i would do the scrap yard route

BTW. I never had the E7 trim. Any chance they are the same as the ones holding your roof lining up. You push it in and turn with a blade screwdriver?

Thanks Casper! You've found the ones I need but you're right, way too pricey. In fact that's bloody scandalous. Scrappy it is. Btw, I'm looking for an e7 headliner or failing that, ideas on how to fabricate one. I'm currently insulating the van so the roof is next on my list. Loving the satisfaction of doing it myself but im at a loss and I don't know where to start. The roof is quite an awkward shape so I might be better waiting till one pops up. Any ideas are welcome though ?

There is people on ebay that break E7's but when i was looking they wanted £100. I was lucky and bagged one from a fire damaged van for £20. Good clean and it was as good as new.

Other options are thin 3-4mm ply and make one but they tend to be 8'x4' so to thin. You will need to do two sections then stretch carpet. B&Q have very light pine cladding for sale 9cm x 240 in packs of 5 for seven quid odds a pack. I have been using it in my van. Scroll down to see how it looks

This is only about 7mm thick and very lightweight so would be ideal on a ceiling and look good varnished. I would say, drill a pilot hole before screwing as it splits easy.

Thanks Casper, yeah i saw that on ebay earlier yesterday, definitely taking the piss. I'm liking your idea with the pine cladding. I'm gonna try the scrappy at Camps and SCB and if theres nothing then i'll consider your idea. Your tin tent looks great btw! smile

I was at SCB week past Sunday and it was crap. Big gates over the 2nd yard but they did have more vans out than usual. Sorry never noticed if the had any Dispatches etc out. If you do go for pine you have a B&Q along the road at Hermiston Gate or Livigston if going the other way. This is the stuff you are after

Two packs should do your van. They have a smaller pack at 180cm but measure cab headliner to back doors first. Think you are 6'3" on the floor. May be shorter distance at the roof. 180cm i think is just under six foot

Brilliant, thanks for that. I spoke to someone last week who told me about the yard at Elphinston where AC cabs have around 50 or so E7's lying around. Apparently the owner doesnt like to sell parts to the public as hes keeping them for parts for his fleet. My mate is friendly with him and is going to put in a good word. Fingers crossed!

See the ribs going up and over the roof? One at end one cab headliner and one in middle. Cant remember what is up at the rear at the back doors but if nothing use a strap of wood that has the same drop height as the metal ribs. Use something like Sikaflex to stick it up with

As for fixing wood to van robs i use wafer head self drilling self tapping screws. Shop around on ebay as you can get them starting at 2cm in length. Measure the drop with of your rib. Lets say its 2cm and your wood is 9mm. You should be happy with 2.5cm screws.

Normal self tappers will do but you will need to be drilling a pilot hole before screwing into the metal. I would recommend drilling a pilot hole in the cladding as it can split easy when sticking a screw through it

Its the same one as Camps. It's listed as Kirknewton on Google for some reason. Shame it was closed though. Went to SCB and pilfered a shed load of clips. There's nothing there at the moment. Bit of a let down given how good its been.

I was there last Wednesday. They're were getting ready to close when i arrived. Apparently theyre closed till the 22nd. I picked up a cracking headliner for £30. The guys there were so much friendlier, better vans to choose from and cheaper too. Ordered carpet, foam, adhesive and LED lighting. Its gonna be a busy weekend next week! What you after exactly?

30 quid. That is a bonus. I presume you also took the plastic fixing clips. They are bloody extensive for what they are. Im after a couple of seats out a car. Got two flat seat frames so i need seats with flat floor mounted rails. Looks like Corsa and Fabia seats will do the job. Later Corsa seats look quite comfortable and depending on model the look as if they hug you also what will be good for long trips. I have a new to me carpet to go down also so ill try Paxtons (Local Scrap Yard) first and if no joy ill hang back and phone Ace when they open again.

Well looks like i dont need the scrap yard now. Two corsa seats £55 posted from this seller http://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/autopartsleedsltd I would have paid that and some at the scrap yard so why get my hands dirty.

Very good, look forward to seeing the pics when they're fitted. I'm on the hunt for 2 front seats, not easy. They all seem to be gone or are too shot for using. Its on my list which is getting longer by the week wink

Need to buy some box steel. Bloody runners are wider than my cross beams on my bases. Your bases are flat, well drivers is a slight angle so any seats with flat runners will do. Small would be better if you have swivel to miss the door cards on the turn

Only thing to watch is not all belt clasps are the same size so dont chuck your out or use floor mounted clasps.

Aye. Could save a fortune. Just dont jump right in with buy now before checking the runners. Some mount sideways into the cars floor pan what are obviously no good.
