I've just been fiddling with my trailer lights, there's a saga.
I've had to give my brake light switch a wiggle to get them working, I had to do something similar last mot time.
Has anyone encountered something similar?
Is there an easy fix?
It's hard to get to, under the dash. I may end up mixing up some epoxy glue to keep it seated!

Its almost teh same as a motorbike rear brake light switch. They get soaked and rust over time inside but keep cleaned and well lubed you can get years out of them. Did you try adjusting the adjuster bolt as it may have vibrated lose and the switch is sitting to low.

I think it's just a push fit, the ribbed part in the picture isn't threaded, there's no nut on it. I suspect it just needs wedging in place.

Skip to 9:21. Possibly the switch or clip is worn

I've used some Thixoflex type stuff to secure the switch bug I think that it's now a poor connection with the block connector. I've given the contacts a spray with WD but I think I'll have to give the connectors a squeeze to get a better contact.

A poor connection between the block connector and the switch is the issue, so I made a couple of little patch wires with a male and female Lucar connector at each end. I used these to bridge the block connector and the switch, seems to work now!
