expert 1.9d tickover

Hi guys

as above van sounds to me like it's ticking over too high is there any way to adjust it ???

Look on the throttle cable on the fuel pump. You can pull out a metal clip and let the cable loosen or pull tighter and slip metal clip back in to hold in place.

have had a look at the cable and it's slack when at idle the linkage is hitting the stop so am i right in thinking just wind the stop in half turn or something

Its not a thread like a big plastic bolt mate just a bunch of grooves. Pull pin 9 out of say groove number four and put it back in number three and test. Other direction if ticking over to low.

thanks have had a look and did as you say in both directions and still cant get tickover to come down whats the other linkage thats just above the throttle linkage kinda to the left abit ????

Unsure mate i got rid of my van over a year ago. What engine do you have as there is more than one and try the manual and download section. There was a owners manuals and workshop available for download.

It's the 1.9d 1868 will have a look into the manual.

I did look at your build and see you have now got a boxer?? hows that going any build on that yet?

No mate boxer was my choice but battered ex builders vans was my only option in my price range at the time so  bought an old LDV Convoy bus. Had it just over a year now and had it to Italy

I've got the DW8 in my van and it sounds as though it's ticking over little fast also, However apparently that's just how they are.
Tickover is set about 900/950 (there abouts allegedly) but without a rev counter I'm not sure,
But a friend of mine Who's idle seemed exactly the same ........ adjusted  his by backing off the stop bolt on the pump.

His van now sounds correct  at idle but have no idea what RPM's are set at, 
but occasionally it will stumble/flutter I think is the best way to describe it.........

(Our 306 idle sounds{correct} entirely different and it has a DW8 but a Bosch pump)

You guys should look at your wire diagrams. I found out there was a version of my van with a rev counter and its quite rare to find but apparently the working wires for them are already in the loom and adding the rev counter clocks is just a matter of plug n play so i have ordered a stand alone rev counter to try and wire in. Now Peugeot are very good at one loom fits all on some motors if not all. If your van is electronic the wires could just be sitting there waiting to be used.

Back to my clocks. I ordered this stand along rev counter only to find out i can split my clocks and get the rev counter only part and easily fit in for a fraction of the price. If i am lucky this should arrive today.

I have an old dead Synergie with the same dash, only it has a rev counter (and thermometer!). Do you reckon I could swappety that?

You would need the two wire diagrams to to know for sure and make sure the multi plug wiring is the same but if the rev counter is electronic it may just be a case of adding a fuse or even pug n play.

Hey guys just found this and hope it will help anyone else with the dw8 engine idle speed being too high am going to check this and try tomorrow
