Windows. Even just one on the N/S door. You can get sliding ones from a convoy. Two sizes 99x50 and 82x50cm what just pop rivet in place.

On the look out for a taxi door with sliding windows mate, the ones I've seen are all too far away for me lol, or might look out for an old style window with the rubber channel, got a skylight to fit too

Google a breakers for the phone number. Sports car breakers. They are just past Edinburgh Airport at Newbridge and often get the taxi in for breaking as West lothian taxi company's used them. There is another scrap yard just off the A71 heading to Livingstone. They also get taxis in but for the life of me i cant think of there name.

Hi! Maybe a little bit late to the post but I really like this L shape layout! How do you make the bed I really could not understand if it opens or slides? I have seen 2 other layouts similar to this (https://www.flickr.com/photos/74506521@N03/6711440531 & https://cornishben.smugmug.com/General/ … nversion/) but I think you have a unique system to make the bed open but I cant understand it from the photos.

I haven't seen luthier post for quite a while but his bed uses interlocking slats for the bed. There are quite a few videos and posts on construction, search for slide out slat bed. It's basically interlocking fingers.
If luthier does still look in... Thanks for the borders pics.

The single most useful idea I would suggest is to consider opening up the full length of the van with swivel seats. It gives a very welcome increase in usable space if you can incorporate the cab into the living area . The cab area is after all almost a third of the van length. A shame not to use it for much more than stowing gear out of the way.

Basically because of the Van layout...........
I only have the one Swivel on the passenger side ...............
It's very effective if somewhat heath robinson especially in the Locking mechanism
I find it an absolute godsend and tend to dismiss vans when looking at possable future upgrade if fitted or to be fitted with twin passenger seat ..........
And does open the front up to a host of other options.........
One thing for me It means whatever the weather, Time of day or Location I have access to the rear without the need to get out and walk round ..........
Invariably I tend to turn it just at right angle to the rear and sit with my feet on drivers seat............
It also gives an excellent amount of space like this when accessing the rear from drivers............
And tends to end up this way through night also.......
It's one of those quirks of each to their own........

I went for two. Them and a home made Rock N Roll bed in the back gave plenty room for four to sit and chat with lots of leg room. They also made for a handy area to put your clothes when the bed is down. I never had much in the way of storage in the van as i used a large roof box and awning for the extra space
