I assume your talking about the tray type cover on dash above glove box................

I think when these dashboards were used in the likes of a 806, Synergy, etc that's where passenger airbag lived or was extra storage bin pre-second Airbag days as per  306's etc ..............
Unless someone of course had one of the said MPV's and knows and can confirm exactly

I never thought about looking closer when i had min but you must have a bit space under that and hinging it would not be that difficult to make a nice hide hole.

I was actual long about the one the looks like it should be a vent.

But now you've mentioned converting the other one...

You mean the one immediately to the left of the stereo? Again, on the Synergie/806 that's a vent. Confused the hell out of me when I went from 806 to Dispatch. I still don't get why it's different between the two.

Re: What's that plastic cover on the dashboard for??

This has set me off on one after looking at 806 interior photos; what's that little grey bag for below the gear stick, some of them appear to have digital heat controls, is that a rev counter I spot on the dashboard...

Re: What's that plastic cover on the dashboard for??

Yea I've noticed the grey bag, it's weird. I saw no sign of one on my 1998 806 or 1996 Synergie. Digital heat controls I think were a later addition too.

Did have the rev counter, but surely the time is much more important, right?

Talking rev counter. Remember i was saying you have a good change the wiring is all there to the dash you just need the wire diagram to confirm? Well in my van that is exactly how it was. Manged to get clocks with the rev counter in them so it was plug n play but a week later my rev counter came from China
