Hi all,
I am the proud owner of a new to me 2005 fiat scudo! YAY!!
Planning to convert it in to tiny camper and so far have managed to remove the rear seats and build and put in a pull out bench/bed.
As of a couple of days ago the sliding doors are not opening anymore?
It has central locking and the other doors all work fine, I have tried to open them with the remote and with the key manually.
it seems to lock and unlock with the central locking as I can hear them lock/unlock I think? but when I try the door handles neither
outside nor inside seems to open them anymore?
PLEASE help me!!
Thank you in advance!

There's a plastic linkage inside the door that breaks. A bit of epoxy putty will sort it out. Tale the top cover off and all be revealed.

From left to right you see three wires. Left opens door latch when you pull handle (Only if unlocked it opens) Middle opens door when you turn key and right operated central locking when you turn the key or operate CL on other door. The side doors have a rmall extra orange or red bit plastic to hold in place. This breaks easy what stops doors opening with central locking so should operate with handle. I think wire number one (Left) has jumped off either handle end or latch. Funny its both doors but cant think of other reason why it would not open with handle.

I think I ended up using a cable tie to keep the rod connected.

Hi all!
Thanks ever so much!
as it turns out previous owner must have had locking issues already and fixed it with mentioned cable tie already , as everything
else seemed connected i figured WD40 was the next step and it all works well now!
Thank again!

I think everyone has an (little) issue at some point (or two) in ownership with these door locks (handles)...................
