Fitting an exhaust - dispatch 2.0 HDI

Hi all,

I've got a 2.0 hdi dispatch and over the weekend the bracket that holds the back box to the rubber mount sheered off leaving it hanging.

It's left a great big hole in the back box so am guessing it cant be welded so would need a replacement.

how easy is it to do it yourself? Would there be any special tools i'd need?

Popping my reg number in GSF car parts suggests this would fit - https://www.gsfcarparts.com/252fi0089 so am wondering how east it'd be to do it myself rather than taking it to a garage to sort out.

Thanks.

Re: Fitting an exhaust - dispatch 2.0 HDI

The garage found the same on my exhaust box when checking before mot.

As the rest of the system was good they patched it and welded the bracket back on.

Nothing special needed............ unless a big hammer and a good sharp chisel maybe

It's a bit of a faf..... The worst part will be separating the joint

If you must buy a back box ETC .............. It's worth comparing parts costs here............... carparts4less.co.uk...............Their part of Euro car parts ..............................."Don't forget to look for the current discount code"

GSF, Eurocarparts and Carparts4less all sell on ebay as well as online in in store. Always check ebay and this is came up on first hit

I'm sure I got mine on eBay, fitted it on the driveway just using axle stands. Quite straight forward, use some exhaust silencer paste on the joints when reassembling.
