A few nights out in Wales

Decided that I needed a change of scenery, so I shot off in the van.

Stayed overnight on the border then I travelled across towards Criccieth, crossing over the Denbigh moors and taking the Ysbyty Ifan road towards Porthmadoc. After visiting an old friend I ended up overnight at Maentwrog.
The next day I travelled down the coast stopping off at various places that I knew for a look around; Harlech, Benar, Friog, Llwyngwril. I stayed the night on the road that goes from Aberystwyth to Llangurig.
After waking up to seeing Red Kites circling around the valley, I travelled towards Builth Wells.

Anyone recognise this film location??

Or this one from the same film!!
Stopped off in Hereford to see my cousin before heading up the A49, stayed just North of Ludlow before arriving home.
A good run out.

It's well worth a trip, the beaches around the Lleyn Peninsula and between Harlech and Aberystwyth are great. Lots to see inland too.

10/10 on your film knowledge!!

I passed you, parked up in a layby facing  west, on the Llangurig road on Tuesday night about dusk.

Ha!
Yes, that was me. I'd been up to Devil's Bridge to see where they filmed the first episode of Hinterland.

I keep thinking the same. But with the distance I may as well go up to Scotland. I'd imagine for you lot Scotland is old hat though smile

I keep thinking we should do a forum meet. Maybe Wales wouldn't be a bad shout.
