Can't change blower fan speed. Where does this wire go?

I suddenly lost the ability to control the blower's speed and have taken a look at the wires to see what's going on.

The fan is working, albeit on very low. If I remove the fuse it shuts off entirely. It is receiving the 14V feed.

I followed the wire from the fan speed control in the centre panel and found it's loose. It has 0-8V depending on what the selected fan speed is. I assume a passenger has accidentally pulled it out.

Where does it belong?

Re: Can't change blower fan speed. Where does this wire go?

I'm following this , my heater blower fan became temperemental during the summer and I wedge the switch with a match stick.
I've just had the panel off and sprayed some Super Servisol switch cleaner and gave it a good slide left to right a few times and it sort if worked ok. When I reassembled it, it's not working.

The heater resistor ( its actually got 2 transistory things on it ) do go, they can be had on ebay cheapish. The same part fits several models of that age group . Xantia, xsara, picasso etc etc.

Re: Can't change blower fan speed. Where does this wire go?

Update: I got brave enough/decided I had nothing to lose, and just tried jamming the yellow wire into the green sticky out contact. Nothing. Stuck it into the black one, and suddenly it spun up!

All fixed smile

Re: Can't change blower fan speed. Where does this wire go?

I had the same sort of problem, I tried all sorts with no joy. I gave up trying to fix it the conventional way, so I bypassed the resistors and heater control and wired the blower direct to a switch/battery, putting a fuse inline. So now when I hit the switch the blower comes on full. Problem solved

Yea mine seemingly had the issue that they all come to have, hence it came with a rotational dial to change the speed
