I recently bought a Scudo panel van (2006) to convert to a weekend camper. I just bought an original rear side window (the panel one not the sliding door one) from an Expert Combi it came with a nice soft rubber seal I would like to reuse but its the type without a bead.
I cannot find out how big to make the hole, I know beaded seals need an extra 7mm all round cut out over size of window, but this looks like it needs less than size of window not more???
Does anyone know how much I need to adjust the template by to get a good fit?

From what I hear, you may struggle to fit it as the factory window doors have a recess to make the window sit flush (i.e the doors are different, not just a stock door with a window in it)
I chose to just buy a door with window already fitted and swap it over, much easier (for me anyway)
Anyhoo this is clearly way too late of a reply anyway haha

I actually meant the panel window not the door although I fear the same thing applies, and not too late, as I havn't choped a big useless hole in the side of the van yet, although too late for stopping me wasting £50 on a window that wont fit

Is the recess not just to let the window frame tuck into the van bodywork? Im sure ot will still go onto a normal panel it will just stick out a tad to whatever height the window frame is. My van is a standard bus with pop riveted windows as standard, like old landrover defenders. They dont make any more wind noise and work as they should. If you have the sliding opening ones just watch what side you put it on as there is a O/S and N/S one.

I have now fitted a bonded on door window, upside down so it lines up with matching door window and it looks good but cost 3 times as much.

What size is your hole You can get the pop rivet ones from an LDV Convoy. Three sizes, 99cm wide, 92cm and 82cm. All are 50cm tall. That is the frame outer measurements so the inner cut hole will be around 2/3cm smaller. They should come with a rubber strip to cover the rivets. Landrover do them also but the LDV ones can be had from £30 2nd hand.
Oh. The 92cm one is sold. Other two slide open.

Each window inc fitting kit is about £130-150 so about £400-450 is what it cost for the 3 windows I fitted (2 on passenger side and one on drivers as I have a full height cupboard on drivers side rear quarter)
Doors I cut from the inside out, I used a high quality tank cutter in the corners to match up the curve of the reinforcing plate. so just the single skin bit gets cut out, then used masking tape to join the holes on the outside and marked the line joining the outer edge of the holes I had cut, this should in theory follow the line of the edge of the reinforcing except where it crosses the vertical piece which needs to be cut through. Then I covered the metal base of my jigsaw with tape to avoid scratching paint and cut along the lines, if done slowly you wont wreck the blades (i used one blade to do all three windows!)
The rear quarter windows I measured the position of the clear part of the window then marked the same on the outer panel as I knew the single skin area inside was bigger than the see-through area on the window. Then I cut out as above but this time used tank cutter from outside.
Paint the cut edge then attach the supplied edge trim.
Bonding on the windows is the easy bit, follow their instructions but basically use the correct prep solvents on the window and the metal work then put a bead of bonding agent on the inside of the window reasonably close to the edge, then stick it on and press evenly as hard as you can to attach, stick tape from top of window on to van so it wont slide down panel, leave over night.
Done!!!
