I overnighted near Blackpool Pleasure Beach last weekend

Was due to get up at 9am to make the most the wristbands. Not being an early bird, I decided to park as close as I could so I could get more sleep in. I think I did alright smile

£12.50 got me 24 hrs' parking. Not bad at all.

I'm surprised there's one that close to BPB. £19 a night though, and I'd have needed all day parking till midnight too, so £38.

Plus I'd have to get up 10 minutes earlier smile

Last time i was down that pleasure beach that big roller coaster was not even in construction. Think they called it the Pepsi Max then. Do they still have the old wooden rickety one? Was that named after a horse race like Grand National?

It's still the Pepsi Max Big one. I wonder if they'll ever stop sponsoring it.

*The* old wooden rickety one? There's like 5 of them smile But yes, the Grand National is still there. The ricktiness adds to the fun

The pleasure beach hasn't really changed much since I was a kid..... Bar buying the tokens then wristbands.....  Paying to get through gates just to walk round with the (Me included) kids..............

The wooden coasters are brilliant ....... my favorite is the Big Dipper which is sort of intertwined with the Pepsi max and Log flume iirc

Approx late 92 early 1993ish..... I did deliver something for the Pepsi Max Big one during it's construction ................

P.S. Off topic ............. About  ten years earlier I transported Delorean fittings and fixtures ..Machinery, body shells etc after it closed.......

When i was a kid we went one year and it was so quiet we you come of the old wooden ones just to run round and get straight back on as it was a race after all. There was also a small one i think designed for kids called Cat And Muse. The track was probably only the height if a two story house but was thinner than the cart and when it came to corners it was like the track just disappeared and you were going to fall. Just as you were about to shit yourself it would pull you round again. Loved that one also.

And back off topic. Couple of years ago going round the Edinburgh bypass when i had my Pug
