Hi, my front exhaust has snapped off just behind the cat converter and in front of the first clamped joint.
Is the cat converter piece a flange fitting to the manifold? I've got access to the ramp at my mates garage and I'm hoping it'll be straightforward.
Anyone got experience of replacing it???
I reckon it's the original, 194k miles, not bad...

Ok, here's my experience:
Tough job, not one that can be done on the driveway.
It was a 2 person job to undo the 10mm bolts that fasten the pipe to the manifold; one holding the spanner at the back, the other using a long socket extension.
The snapped off piece in the centre section was stuck fast, we had to use the oxy acetylene to heat the joint up and then stilsons to twist it out.
Tough work, very physical, but done it eventually.

I don't have my van to haand today...... But last time it was up on a lift I though that's an odd place to have a Cat.........
Mine seemed to be positioned quite near the rear beam for the axle which is much much further back than I would have expected
Is this factory or someone's idea to clean up the act a bit............

Just had a look at Citroen Service Box for my van.....
It seems the Cat is located in the intermidiate pipe so factory I suspect after all (afterthought?)
My friends van doesn't have a cat but it is Pre-face lift
The Down pipe has a 2 bolt flange fitting to manifold with looks like a wire ring type...... one of those compressed wire brillo pad rings as a gasket........
All other joints are sleeved.......
