I don;t think they're linkages, but cables. Maybe one of them has snapped?
Does it change gear?

It's mine, but yours will likely be the same.
I'd say though you're probably best taking to a mechanic who will be able to accurately diagnose it and fix it.

Had this happened on my 2002 on a road trip to Spain. It was item no2 on the second diagram. The ball joint socket is plastic and just fell to bits - and disapeared. The garage I went too said that you could just use a tie wrap to hold it in place - I went for the new one. Anyway it's impossible to get at this without getting it up on a ramp.

Whats this?
Can we have a rev counter then?
(btw... that battery is doing great. Two nights out with no problems and then it even started the van when I flattened the starter battery.)

To avoid hijacking this thread I've started a new one: https://dispatchexpertscudo.org.uk/foru … php?id=684

Good to hear it's coming in useful

Reading this it sounds like As TEE_CEE says it's popped off the linkage or it's got a broken gear change cable ............. Kenbw2 is correct a mechanic is probably to be your best bet as fitting new cables if required is do-able but a pig of a job I'm told....................
