Possibly New (To Me) Van

Going to view this later today.

86-5.png

1.9D dispatch. Fingers crossed its as clean as the advert says. Full years MOT and tow ball with electrics. This is only to be a works van so may end up driving it on veg oil. Its later than my old 99 model. Its a 03, did they all have the same pump, Can i just pour the oil in or any adjusting needed?

Re: Possibly New (To Me) Van

Bought it big_smile Probably 200 quid more than i would have liked to spend but all the other nice looking ones were a train ride away and fuel money back. Sump plug washer/gasket and rocker gasket or tighten and thats about it. May want a clutch in a year as bite is high, cant remember if my last one was high but happy enough. Nice and clean inside and someone who must have been tall make a full bulkhead what is handy

Welcome back to the fold C.  Although glad to say you never went away.

ken runs veg oil and I think it's a similar year.   He has a neat setup to feed diesel for easier startup.

I recon you just wanted somewhere to put a sticker.  smile

Bloody expensive sticker big_smile I may try waste oil if i can get it in smaller quantity's and straining is not to messy but its just to be used for a small gardening business so mileage is minimum. First off is order up some fuel filters. Fixed the radio this morning what was priority big_smile

Yes a Neck Breaking 71BHP..................
I've a tow ball on mine and admittedly only ever towed a dual purpose bike/goods trailer any distance (Brighton) But It was loaded with a fully Decked out RT 1150 if that makes a difference the other notable time was only about  30 miles when the trailer had a 3.2 V6 along with sub frame etc......................... It wasn't light to get in there and van behaved Ok..........
wouldn't have said it was a noticable strugle more than the norm on the hills.........

I think you'll find it's most likey the (lucas) Delphi pump you have .........not so handy in the long term with the veg or waste engine oil as the Bosch pump that kenbw2 had fitted to his van

Lucky you on the doors! My blue van's doors are good too. My white ones not so much and not for lack of trying.

FWIW your engine is a DW8 but I got my Bosch pump off the earlier XUD9 engine and it works just fine. Had lots of problem free veg running on mine.

So was that just a straight swap/plug and play. Not hunting for a pump but of i come across one cheap and its easy to fit i may just go for it.

Pretty much. I didn't fit it myself because I don't trust myself with timing belts, but as far as I know it's just a straight swap.
