Sorry rubbish pictures. Any database online where i can type in my reg to find out. I have a blown exhaust and can get a complete system with cat for 130 if i have a DW8. Not got reg doc yet to see if that tells me.

Cheers

Re: What Engine .........

A clean one!

1.9D DW8 (DW8B?) with a Lucas fuel pump.

If you want to post your VIN I can look up part numbers on Citroen Service.

Re: What Engine .........

I'll go with kenbw2 ..........DW8B........
I've got a small oil leak from rocker cover also....

Seams DW8's are notorious for it with plastic rocker covers warping and gasket being hard as a wh**se heart......

Rear of my engine is clabbered in oil from memorey............

Re: What Engine .........

Yeah, definitely a DW8B, same as my Scudo and my Dispatch and coincidentally the exhaust on my Dispatch just broke in half last weekend on my way to great Langdale during storm Dennis. Because there is no hanger on the front box, I couldn't tie it back up so it scraped along the road all the way home. Then came the good news, I discovered the exhaust on the scudo with the dead engine in my back yard is a custom made, one piece stainless system with a side exit tail pipe, because of the rear wheelchair ramp.
So yesterday I spent around eight hours taking the system off the scudo and fitting it to the Expert after removing the old one. Believe me when I tell you it was no easy job without a pit or a lift, the old one was hard enough to remove but the new one from the Scudo was a pig to get off and back on, mainly because it was welded together, making it rather long and heavy. Of course the hangers were all in the wrong places but there were two aftermarket hangers on the scudo, which I removed and put back on the Dispatch.

I have one more hanger to fiddle with but its working fine and because its stainless steel it'll probably outlast me and save me quite a bit of cash in replacement exhausts over the years.

Re: What Engine .........

Aye. Changed the full system not long after i bought mine. Hardest part without a ramp/pit was tucking the front section up to mate the down pipe.

Re: What Engine .........

Yeah and mine is all one piece so it wasn't the easiest exhaust I have ever fitted.

I notice from the photo at the top that you still have your vacuum pipes connected to your EGR valve Casper.

If you disconnect them, the engine will run a lot better and produce less smoke. Just saying devil .

Re: What Engine .........

Yeah its both the rubber vacuum pipes that go into the EGR valve on the front, under the coolant tank. One on the right and one at the lower left. just pull them off and put an m6 cap head bolt into each one to stop it sucking any crud into the vacuum pump. no need to block the hard plastic pipes on the EGR valve its self. The engine will run better and produce less smoke.

I can't remember exactly what I used other than I cut a peice (appropriately sized length) of rubber into 3 sections and pushed them each into the EGR pipes you mention and then replaced them all back where they came from hopeing everything looks un-molested..........

It didn't Quite set a crick in my neck but did make an over all difference (benefit) to the van

No need for a blanking plate?
OK for turbo?
Does it need reconnecting for MOT?

I'd say What Griffin was referring to was related to the DW8.................

I think you'll find that on your XUD Td motor you have to revert to the blanking plate ............

OK for turbo? I'm sure there's a debate somewhere that says Not ............

Does it need reconnecting for MOT? I would think short answer is No ...........

All off and blocked again. Was out today for a bit of a motorway run. Manage to keep 70 in a strong head wind what was unheard of and does feel a tad more responsive. It was never a smoker anyway plus i did clean the EGR and manifold when they were all off last.

Re: What Engine .........

Yeah just to reiterate, mine is the DW8B. Not sure what EGR vacuum pipe arrangements are on the other engine variants, so you would have to use trial and error to see what would work for you. On the DW8B engine, the engine management light doesn't come on when the pipes are blocked or disconnected, so if you are discreet about the loose ends of the pipes it won't be an MoT issue. or you could just reconnect them for the MoT if you are that bothered.
