Someone I have followed for a couple of years on youtube living in a scudo has a serious problem with his van.
Anyone suffered similar and managed an economical repair?

Looks like he might get help from his subscribers but he is not a youtube beggar at all. I don't indulge in social media or follow any of the "vanlife" trendies but Brett is a real decent bloke.

The damage is £500, so it's goodbye vienna
Really? He's writing it off for £500?
What's he gonna replace the van with? He's gonna struggle to replace it for less than £500.

I Suppose it could be one of those cases where if you don't have £500 it might as well be £ 5,000,000..............

Yea agreed, but I'm working on the assumption that he plans to replace the van with something else in the future. Might as well put that money into the van than a replacement.
Unless he just can't afford anything at all, in which case that's gonna be difficult for him

I think he has just lashed out all he had on converting a garage to live in after a year in the van. Looks like he will get the money from subscribers though.
He had new belts and water pump fitted a few months back. Probably down to them not torquing the pully properly.

It's scary that you can have something like that happen, especially when you're entrusting it to professionals.

I'm inclined to agree with you that having invested so much (Time, effort aswell as Money) into making the van a "Home" park it up and save up for the work or a replacement vehicle......
Whichever is the lesser of two evils.........
I'm also inclined too think "goodbye vienna" was probably a knee jerk reaction.............. I know I've had a few of those emotions over the years till you count to ten and have a more rational thought towards the predicament
