2006 Scudo hdi
I had a soft pedal and osr and nsf wheels had locked up
So I have replaced the master cylinder
I bled the cylinder then bled the brakes
For the first couple of miles they're fine but then the fronts begin to bind
If I loosen the front most brake line in the cylinder they free off but lock up again in a mile or so
I think I've read that the rod going into the back of the cylinder may not be retracting or needs adjusting?
I'm not sure and I am a bit stuck now
Btw I'm so pleased I've found this place. I've had loads of these vans over the years and hopefully I can carry on

Ill watch this with interest as need to change mine soon however, if yours were fine before i.e no binding caliper then i would be looking at the push rod also. Was it brand new or new to you or it it possible there was an upgrade M/S at some point and you have the wrong one?

The master cylinder was a slightly different shape but I put that down to being a different manufacturer. It all lined up ok. Is the rod in the back adjustable?

Just a thought ........... This is not some thing silly like it's come off an Non HDI engined van to a HDI or Vice versa ................ I've fell into this kind of trap before

Hmm, I've just looked back at the listing and the only Scudo listed is the 1.9D but it lists the hdi 110hp for the Expert/Dispatch/Ulysses

I could be very wrong ............ but as i say in the past all be it wasn't on one of these where the part fitted but had a subtle difference where it worked but just not correctly enough
Is there any markings or part number on original item that could cross reference on the listings OEM numbers or new item to your vehicle etc...........
Does a Scudo VIN work on Citroen Sevice box as they are all built in same plant

Does sound like rod in too far into the cylinder as it needs to back off a certain distance for the pressure to release.
I dont know if adjustable on these vans, never looked TBH

I've thinking about my next move
We isolated the problem to too much pressure in the master cylinder, we think caused by the pin not retracting fully
To get to the pivot points the engine needs lowering and this is where I've run out of time and interest. Quite a few other things need sorting for the MOT so this is where the van meets its end
So if anyone needs some parts from a silver Scudo let me know

Was your M/C new and came with a new reservoir? If so i will have that to start with and if it does differ or fooked at least the reservoir should be fine as this is my main issue.
