How to change glowplugs

All four bolts were rotten. Ordered another manifold last week when i found out and tore into it today. I did put new bolts in but hope never to have to get that off again. Ill presume its put on the engine before engine is put in the van. Crap design.

I got all of mine changed on Friday (A PITA but a little less distructive) .................
My worry is allways the plug it's self and it coming out without breaking or dropping/loosing the the little nut on top ETC

I just changed all 4 never checked what came out......... No idea if was down 1 or 2
It Starts better and much less grumpy doing so........... smile

Changed them. Put little grip clamps on the fuel return pipes and change the glowplug relay. One of the poles you bolt the power line onto was rusted off. It caught then it never caught, must have been doing this for some time as the plastic was scorched and as soon as i looked it the thing the pole fell out. Starts and runs great now as i have been running this through the tank

Cant recommend it enough. Smoother van and better mpg. It even pulls up hills a tad better.

Are you planning to use as a regular additive, or just a one off cleaner?

Ill see. Probably a one of as i tend to run a tank of BP Ultimate now and then what keeps things running along smooth. The van was running crap like it was running on three. This was recommended to me and when i put it in the difference was night and day and you notice it almost instant. Ill run this bottle and i have one for my convoy. Got one for the wifes car also as they do a petrol version. That was hunting when sitting idling at the lights. That is cured and the car accelerated a lot smoother.

Try it, you have nowt to lose. I was putting two caps in for each £20 of diesel as i had an issue but just putting one cap in now. Did 50 miles on the motorway a couple of days ago and 70mph feels a lot smoother also as the van would feel almost buzzy before.

Old thread, but I'm borrowing it... Do the intake manifold have to come off in order to replace the glow-plugs? Just bought this car, a 2003 Dispatch (or Jumpy as they are named here). As the car runs rough and are laying out a smoke-screen in the morning, I suspect glowplug-problems. Starts and runs just fine when hot...

If you mean the four bolts then no. I get smoke if i start it to soon. Dont try and start it when the glow plug light goes out but listen for the relay to click. Think its aroud 30-40 seconds.
