As most eBay thieving gits want up to £100 for one i thought sod that ill make one. Got a day off tomorrow so was gong to crack on and start cutting card to shape. Finished early today so decided to have a look what was in the scrap yard. Low and behold a E7 was just in. Fire damage but apart from front smoke damage its intact. Lining with lights and speakers 20 quid. Happy as a pig in shit. I need to cut it down a bit as its shaped for windows but ill get that in tomorrow. Anyone got some of those plastic clips that hold it in place? The six on the front liner are the same. Someone on ebay wanting £6 for three. He can F*** right off. Also got a parcel shelf for the wifes car so can nick the rear speaker out that and have six in the van.
Led Zeppelin will never have sounded so good

Nice one! That was a result. I looked at one from a taxi breaker on ebay before buying the taxi I had for spares and they wanted £120.

Aye, no doubt the same bloke i mailed. He was coming up this way and was willing to deliver free but i still think £100+ is taking the piss.

I fitted mine yesterday, it came out of a scrap motability van, I found the clips useless so screwed it up with those small self drilling screws from screwfix.

Cant say i have a problem with the clips. You are turning them to lock in place and you can open them up a tad. I also notice in the back if you are putting the lining up in a van what does not have windows it will not fit proper if you have wood lined panels where the window should be. You either cut the wood lining down or trim the lip from your lining.

The clips kept dropping a few mm when I let go of them so I just screwed it up, I have fitted a couple of extra roof support panels to the roof, I also dynamatted and insulated the roof so thought all that might have been working against the clips. I haven't got side windows and didn't keep the window trims so wasn't quite sure what to do with the sides yet to tidy them up.

Do you or anyone know the polarity of the lights. You have a side with one spade and two on the other. I was presuming the single side was live but i can only get two lights working. Anyone manage to get them all wired up and working independently? If so how as i was trying to use little wire as possible but do i need a live feed for each one?

I have run my own wires from my leisure battery, save running the lights off the main battery, I also cut the middle out the standard light and fitted 2 led strips in to it. I think the 3 terminals on the light are only used for the front light as it has a door open feed to it as well as a permanent live.

Yeah i will also be hooking them to a leisure battery. Lights, usb and power sockets. I did have the wires the wrong way round. Got it sorted today and lining back in (Last pic)

I will have one switch to work them all and smaller soft LED's for when in bed reading or whatever.

My head lining only has one light fitting, I like the speakers in the back idea, I might install some in the same area. Are you gonna try n wire the radio off the leisure battery or keep it off the main battery?
Offline
I was thinking leisure as when parked up for a couple of days i reduce the risk of killing the main. I have a continuous live in the back for an old light. I may use that for the radio also as it will want an ignition live to run and continuous to store and remember settings.
My lining came out a Pug E7 taxi, this could be why more lights and speakers
