Fuel Leak

Just bought a 2000 1.9 DW8 Scudo which has developed a fuel leak from the round rubber seal on front of pump as viewed looking towards rear of vehicle. It’s a Lucas type pump
Any advice peeps?

Re: Fuel Leak

More investigation reveals its a plastic bung.
Cant see an easy way of removing it.

Re: Fuel Leak

These people probably do the seals kit.  Perhaps a call as a prospective customer might help.

Re: Fuel Leak

That sounds very much like the  plastic type bung that's about mid way on side of pump body............
Behind it is Max fuel screw and if memorey serves me, You use a screw driver on edges to tease it off as it's got a tighten only type fiting /ability on it....
The body of the pump is full of fuel so will empty down to the level of bung when removed.........
It could be damaged by rough handling when removed ...Attempting to remove or it not fully tightened.........
I must admit Ive never per say to my knowledge had a leak from that bung........(only really fiddled with turbo pumps)
So I'm at a bit of a suggestion loss....
but I'm Sure OAT's link should assist if a new one is required.........

Re: Fuel Leak

Visited my local diesel shop, bought a new plastic cap for the heady sum of £2.
Didn’t fix the leak.
Turned out to be the large hex bolt above plastic cap, new seal and tightened up properly, leak now solved.
Now to try and get my diesel heater fitted, it’s cold living in my van!
