New Head unit

I'm currently in the process of doing so alterations to the van, mainly overtime convert into a stealth camper.

Any how, I needed somewhere to fit a bank of switches including 2 for the heated seats when they go in. So I found the perfect position on the dash below the stereo, but I'd fitted a double din kenwood unit, so I purchased a replacement centre trim and set about looking for a replacement head unit, it needed to have dab, bluetooth and a screen for the reverse camera.

After some thought I went with the Sony xav-ax8050d, which I purchased from halfords as they had £130 off the price so happy days. Old trim and head unit out, new trim and stereo in. Happy with it now it's in, as wasn't too sure about having the screen permanently and predominantly on display, but I suppose a lot of new cars are like that now.

Re: New Head unit

Thanks AB_70, really happy with the head unit everything is just spot on with it.

Progress on the conversion has been slow of late, done abit of additional wiring for a few little additions such as for an internal red night driving light, switches and initial wiring for the heated seats when I get round to fitting them.

The additional rear plastic trims pieces finally arrived the other week so will be looking at fitting them soon too.

Just need to decide on the final interior layout, whether to go with a full width seat/bed or 3/4 and a side unit with fridge area etc.

Then make a final decision on windows, going with the bonded type but cant decide at the moment whether to do just the side loading doors or them and the rear panels.
