Does anyone know how to adjust the cable on a 2004 Scudo? A mechanic did some work on mine and adjusted something, and now the handbrake only just makes it onto the first notch. Would like to take some tension out of the cable so it goes onto the second or third notch when you pull the handbrake on.
Thanks for any advice.

I don't have the answer, but you could take the plastic cover off the side of the seat. The level unbolts from the seat quite easily (remember to check your wheels, like I didn't!). There might be a screw there you can use to adjust the cable.

The handbrake cable splitter and adjuster are under the van behind the inner sill on the drivers side.

Thanks to both of you for your replies. When the rain stops, I'll get the jack out and have a look underneath.
Out of interest, does anyone know how the auto brake adjusters work in the rear drums? Do they move the shoes out a fraction each time the handbrake is used, or does pressing on the brakes move the adjustment?

All sorted thanks. That's a really easy adjustment. Mole grips on the square/cable end of the adjustment thread to steady it, and ring spanner to turn the nut - and enough clearence to do it without jacking up.
Did look at the setup for a while to work out how it works. Having only one thread, it first appeared that it would only adjust the off side cable. Then I realised there's a metal bar that goes forward a few inches and acts to tighten or loosed the outer cable housing tension for the nearside.
Just about makes it onto the third ratchet now when handbrake applied, whereas before it was struggling to get on the first one.
