Seats in!

Finally got around to chopping up some uni strut and getting the passenger seat in. The basket under the frame made it very tricky to wire, but got there. Treated her to a new gearknob and boot too. Also installed a new stereo and a reverse camera.  smile

Re: Seats in!

Looking amazing! I love the new gearstick.

Mind throwing the model of that stereo our way? Does it fit right in no mods?

Hi Ken, cheers I’m happy so far!

Here’s the stereo : https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RDS-Car-Ster … Sw0ule8xnM

The install is a easy enough, it’s a straight fit. Only peculiar thing is, on the ISO plug, Citroen have swapped the permanent live with the ignition live. So you’ll have to swap that over or it always forgets your stations and the time!

The reverse camera was a separate buy, think it was a tenner. It’s easy to wire in, drop me a line if you need a tip  big_smile

Cheers for the link, that's tantalisingly cheap!

I actually have a reversing camera but the screen is kinda awkward. Is it just a normal coax plug? I bet it'd just go straight in.

Also my wires were chopped when I got the van so I've already got it ISO'd up. Hmmm...

Re: Seats in!

Oooh one thing to add to your list!. Does it allow you to rotate the camera 180 degrees? I have mine mounted on the back door pointing downwards

Think you need to buy your own camera and i would say no but prefer looking down myself. Saves my parking sensor (step) hitting smaller motors.

I never play CD's. Motor or home as i play from SD or USB so cheap as chips units is well up my street. I just like the idea of this unit having a touch screen and being used in the read of the van. Had i not been given a DAB unit for my new build i would buy an other but for what they do these cab units are ace.......

Thanks dRoyd, they’re comfy too I can tell you!

I did play CDs to be fair, but everything is on Spotify these days, and the Bluetooth in the 30 quid stereo is great!

Only thing I can’t figure out is why the steering wheel controls don’t work any more. It’s black/orange to black/orange so should work, hmmm.

Re: Seats in!

I always play MP3 via SD or pen drive so this is ideal. Came today
