Can anyone tell me how to open the rear nearside sliding door on my 2011 Fiat Scudo please, the locking mechanism seems to be working ok as I can hear it locking and unlocking but the door will not open. I have taken the inside door cover panel off but that is as far as I can get.

Does it open from the inside? Sounds like the wire onto the handle has fell off or the eye it hooks into is buggered.

This is for my 2011 model of Scudo.
The inside door handle operates ok and I can feel the cable moving inside its sleeve but the door will not open and although the lock mechanism makes a sound as though it is locking and unlocking it just doesn't do anything and the door will not open.

Ok, so nobody is able to help me open the door on here.
Is there anyone that can point me in the right direction to obtain any information on how these sliding doors actually operate please.

I had problems on the old van with the mechanism sticking at the back. So to get the door to open I'd pull the handle and at the same time hit the back of door, with my hand, where the latch is situated. After a few bangs the door opened and I was able to grease it all up again.
On my 2015 Expert the latch is situated 10cm below the bottom of the sliding rail.

I have exactly same problem, can’t open the door, can you advise how you overcame the problem by opening the door and fixing problem, other rear door opens OK

It could be stuck, or it could be that the mechanism isn't working.
Check behind the door cards to see if the 2 wire rods are still conected at each end and move when the handle is pulled.
If they do, it suggests the mechanism is ok and could be at vaz suggests, the rear lock catch might be jammed. Pressure or a blow from either inside or out might free it.
Once open, you might get away with makeing an adjustment to the catch and all will be well.
In my experience, once you start adjusting the mounts and latches, you end up something else not quite right.
At the moment my recent replacement won't open from the outside but closes, locks and unlocks from inside and out.
Perhaps more importantly it also seals well so I will leave alone.

Follow up on the problem with my nearside rear door not opening from the inside, or outside.
On information received from Colliemax, thankyou, I purchased the following items from evilbay at a total cost of £7.99;
Air Wedge Pump Up Bag.
I inserted three of the above airbags into the area below the locking mechanism on the offending door and then inflated them. This opened the door electrical contacts. ( when I tried to lock the van again the rear doors would not then lock because these contacts were open).
I then climbed into the van and pulled the offending door handle at the same time as operating the door locks using the key fob.
Hey presto, it worked the door opened.
I cleaned all the contacts and lubricated everything I could.
The door seems to be operating as it should now.
I hope this works if anyone has the same problem.
